DUO VILLARCEAUX

“Piano duo on fire” (Deutschlandfunk) and “the two pianists are excellent – I’ve rarely heard better unison playing” (American Record Guide) are just two of the verdicts.

As the Villarceaux Duo, the German pianists Alexandra Sostmann and Judith Mosch have impressed audiences and the press alike.

Having won several prizes, including 1st Prize in the International Chamber Music Competition in Caltanissetta, Sicily, and playing two pianos or with four hands on a single piano at such major music centres as Berlin, Dresden, London, Paris and Vienna, they have been invited to perform at international festivals.

Enthusiastic reviews attest to Sostmann’s and Mosch’s electrifying verve, technical brilliance and sensitive artistic expression. Four CD recordings of works by Stravinsky, Rachmaninoff, Debussy and Ravel and of tangos underline the duo’s remarkable versatility.

After a break of several years, during which the two pianists pursued solo paths in order to rethink their artistic standpoints, Alexandra Sostmann and Judith Mosch can now be experienced on stage together again.
